Hunan Institute of Technology Delegation Led by President Zeng Guangsheng Visits Topteck Stone Group
On April 9, 2024, Zeng Guangsheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Hunan Institute of Technology, led a delegation to the headquarters of Topteck Stone Group, an enterprise founded by an alumnus. The visit aimed to conduct research on alumni association activities, the "Visiting Enterprises to Expand Posts" initiative for promoting high-quality employment, and professional talent cultivation through industry-academia cooperation.
The delegation included Luo Xiaojun, Director of the Alumni Liaison Center; Liu Yingshi, Party Secretary of the School of Materials Science and Engineering; Liu Xiangxin, former Party Secretary of the School; Wu Zhi, Vice Dean of the School; and faculty representatives Dr. Xiong Xin and Dr. Chen Hu. They were accompanied by Liang Zhi, Executive President of the Hunan Institute of Technology Guangdong Alumni Association; Vice Presidents Chang Yan, Wang Gang, and Qin Wenjun; and Secretary-General Xu Zhengyang.
Gong Meihua, Vice President of the Guangdong Alumni Association and Chairman of Topteck Stone Group, accompanied and received the university delegation. He provided an overview of the enterprise's and his personal development.
Gong Meihua accompanied the university leaders and alumni to view Topteck's promotional video in the audiovisual room and tour the headquarters' material selection center. He provided detailed explanations on the properties of natural and artificial stone and their applications in engineering projects. During the tour, Gong Meihua discussed with the university leaders and faculty representatives matters related to the research and development of new stone categories, the application of new artificial stone materials, construction technology innovation, and the cultivation of skilled stone talents. Currently, Topteck primarily deals in natural marble materials and has also developed new materials such as forged marble and antibacterial artificial stone. Positioned as an EPC project material aesthetics gallery, the Topteck headquarters aims to become a shared platform for designers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for material selection and sample signing. The company has significant potential for development in technological innovation, industry-academia cooperation, and talent cultivation.
Zeng Guangsheng briefly introduced the development history of Hunan Institute of Technology. He congratulated the alumni on their outstanding achievements across various industries and expressed pride in the institution's role in cultivating pillars of society generation after generation. He stated that the alumni association, as a bridge connecting alumni with their alma mater, embodies the wisdom and dedication of its members. He acknowledged the extraordinary enthusiasm and exceptional capabilities demonstrated by the Guangdong Alumni Association, whose efforts have allowed the association to take root, flourish, and bear fruit in the southern region. He extended sincere gratitude to the alumni for their long-standing care and support of the alumni association. President Zeng affirmed that the alma mater will spare no effort in supporting alumni development, providing robust support in academic exchange, talent cultivation, and industry-academia-research cooperation. He offered valuable suggestions and advice for the activities of the Guangdong Alumni Association and urged relevant university departments to continue their dedicated efforts in alumni services. He encouraged alumni to be confident and self-reliant, and expressed his hope that they will actively participate in the construction and development of their alma mater, keep pace with the times, continuously innovate in the forms and content of activities, consider the alumni association as their home, and collectively write a brilliant chapter for Hunan Institute of Technology in Guangdong.
